‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the schools,

No one was stirring, not even for lotto pools.

Employees were absent, with permission we hope,

Since one could get fired despite a doctor’s note.

The teachers were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of high test scores danced in their heads.

Performance agreements in haste were signed off,

But stays of execution for those who dared scoff.

Sitting at my computer, no letters to write,

I decided to send you this missive tonight…
