SPECIAL BOE MEETING...Minutes

Gonna be a lazy CAT tonight...

The meeting was called to order at 5 p.m. with Coleman, Vaughn, Brown, Stubblefield, and Gooden answering roll. In the absence of President Burris, Vice President Stubblefield chaired the meeting. (McBride arrived at 5:07 p.m.; Coleman departed at 6:55 p.m.)

No employees or public sought recognition; the agenda was approved.

The BOE voted to enter closed session at 5:03 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 7:03 p.m.

The BOE accepted the resignations of Felecia Kennedy Moore and Zach Schumacher, authorizing the Superintendent to advertise the positions.

The BOE approved a stand-alone contract in the amount of $5000 for Ken Hamilton to do scheduling "as discussed in closed session".

The BOE authorized the Superintendent to hire three paraprofessionals...teacher aides for Cairo students attending JAMP programs outside the district.

At the behest of Acting President Stubblefield, the Superintendent explained to the audience that the BOE would not be acting on the handbook at this meeting due to new information/changes that were presented just today. It was the consensus that they should not rush the process...that time was needed for the members to properly digest the additional suggestions.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 7:08 p.m.
