Lawmakers move to consolidate school districts

Been there, done that...

...and failed, many times in the past.

Should it happen?

Yes. The enrollments of local high schools prevent the offering of advanced courses and multiple sections of basic courses to accommodate student scheduling.

Sadly, the enrollments of the high schools in Alexander and Pulaski Counties are not sufficient to make one decent sized high school. To incorporate school districts further north would involve significant transportation times that would be off-putting to both parents and students.

So, bears repeating...
