CAT Tracks for May 13, 2019

The Cairo Board of Education held its Rescheduled Regular Meeting on Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m.

CAT President's Report:

Members present: Kevin McAllister, Rodney Moore, Tara Harris, Brenda Gooden, Mary Coleman. Moore presided in the absence of BOE President Sheila Nelson (who arrived at 7:15 p.m.)

No examples of Excellence.

No one addressed the board.

First reading of Board policy language related to Weighted Classes and Valedictorian tonight. Second reading and vote on Thursday, June 13th.

The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:16 p.m.

The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 7 p.m.

Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education - The BOE voted to approve all items as listed on the agenda.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 7:16 p.m.

*Artie McBride arrived too late for the "Public/Private Hearing or Petitions" section of the agenda, but the BOE allowed her to speak later. She asked about the BOE policy on class sponsors. Superintendent Andrea Evers explained that teachers get first consideration and that all internal candidates will be considered first. There will be further discussion at the June BOE meeting.
