CAT Tracks for June 13, 2019

The Cairo Board of Education held its Regular Meeting on Thursday, June 13, at 6 p.m.

Immediately preceding that meeting (at 5:30 p.m.), the BOE conducted a Public Hearing on the 2018-2019 Amended Budget.

CAT President's Report:

The regular meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. All BOE members were present.

Valerie Hall asked to go into closed session. The BOE agreed that they would see her then.

Approved Consent agenda

Informational: Ryan Dodd discussed roofing bids.

Two students have been accepted into 773 program.

BOE team for teachers negotiations - Rodney Moore, Tara Harris, and Sheila Nelson. Mary Coleman is the alternate. First meeting is July 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Truancy grant is 90% complete. Due date is June 28th.

Graduation for 2020 - Discussed having both HS and JR HIGH on May 16. HS at 10 and JR HIGH at 12. Nothing was decided.

No discussion on moving middle school to main hallway.

Rescheduling Dr. Rice's visit.

The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:55 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 8:39 p.m.

Hired Tammy Boone for second grade teacher.

Hired Shenunita Ellis for CES night custodian.

Approved Items 4-10 on agenda.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 9:00 p.m.
