CAT Tracks for July 18, 2019

The Cairo Board of Education held its Regular Meeting on Thursday, July 18, at 6 p.m.

CAT President's Report:

Roll call at 6:00 p.m.

Rodney Moore acted as president. Nelson was absent. All other board members were present.

Examples of Excellence: Mrs Brown announced that the Pre-school received a rating of Gold Circle of Excellence.

Dr.Thomas reported that discipline is slowly improving. She shared some data with the board.

Dr. Evers reported that the roofing will begin next week and should be completed in 5-7 days.

Dr. Evers also reported that she and Mr. Moore had toured the Delta Center Gym and are considering purchasing it for use as a community facility and district programs since it has a stage.

Bids will be put for a ten passenger van.

Dr. Rice will meet with the board on July 24, 2019, followed by the superintendent's evaluation.

Dorian Howard and Alton Hervy will be attending the 773 program in Marion.

The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:32 p.m.

The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 7:25 p.m.

Discussed the changes in the handbook.

No hirings.

The rest of the items were approved. (Handbook was approved with the revisions.)

Nelson arrived at 7:33.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 7:55 p.m.
