The Cairo Board of Education eold a Special Meeting on Thursday, May 6th, at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering the approval of a construction contract.

CAT President's Report:
Called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Members present: Stubblefield, Nelson, Coleman, McAllister, Moore, Harris, and Tarver. Superintendent Rice and Financial Director Blake were also present.
# 2 - No one addressed the board.
# 3 - Approved.
#4 - Bassinger Architects addressed the board with their bid on the extensive work to be done at Cairo Elementary and CHS/CJHS. Work at CES includes roof, HVAC, ceilings, and light fixtures. Work at CJHS/CHS includes air conditioning gym and new units in district office. Proposed date of completion July 30, 2021. If delayed, the start of in-person learning would have to be pushed back. Students would be on full remote. Some questions were asked.
The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:21 p.m.
The BOE voted to exit closed session at 6:45 p.m.
Approved hiring A and W Plumbing and Heating. They are out of Murphysboro, IL.
The BOE voted to adjourn at 6:50 p.m.
