CAT Tracks for July 27, 2020

The Cairo Board of Education held a Special Meeting on Monday, July 27th, at 6 p.m.

CAT President's Report:

Members present: Coleman, Gooden, Moore, Nelson, Harris, McAllister. Also present: Finance Director Janice Blake and Superintendent Dr. Rice.

Called to order at 6 p.m.

Ryan Hortenstein from QNS TECHNOLOGY addressed the board. Gave a presentation on the services his company could provide. Home base is Sullivan, IL and Mt. Vernon, IL.

Dr. Rice quoted the survey that was given to the parents. These numbers are for both buildings combined: 85 are sending students to school for face-to-face instruction; 99 are not sending students and will do complete remote instruction; 23 are undecided. For now, remote instruction will be packets until chrome books arrive and PD is given to teachers and students.

Rachel Harrell addressed the board with several questions coming from a parent's point of view.

The BOE voted to enter closed session at 7:10 p.m.

The BOE voted to exit closed session at 9:00 p.m.

Approved both items requiring action under hiring - a and b.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 9:05 p.m.
