CAIRO JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL MAKEOVER UPDATE |
CAT Tracks Editor's Catty Commentary:
Pretty as a picture!
The ole circa 1980 building is certainly lookin' good...spiffy even!
There's just one thing that I don't understand...
...why in the world paint the building before installing the windows?
Was the order for the windows delayed? Maybe due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company was ordered to manufacture ventilators instead of windows...Ya think?
Oh well, I'm sure the District has a standing order for matching paint for the eventual/continual peeling from the underlying maintenance-free brick.
So, there shouldn't be any problem "touching up" after installing the windows.
Oh happy day!
PS: If you are not a regular reader, I suppose I should inform you that there are NO WINDOWS on order. Never had 'em, never will.
I spent 28 years working in that "cave". To this day, I have to wear sunglasses on a cloudy day - oh, and turn down the brightness level on digital devices - because of my "mole years".
Well, another disclaimer...
...part of my vision problems resulted from the 1999 gassing when the powers-that-were decided to repair the leaky flat roof while school was in session. Hey, maybe somebody knew the history (or just had plain common sense), since they didn't repeat the mistake, replacing the roof this time while students and staff were away! Of course, a cynic might say that COVID-19 saved the day...
...the proverbial silver lining.
Well, MEOW, I haven't done that in a while...
...like riding a bike.
