ILLINOIS SCHOOL MASK MANDATE ENDS |
From Cairo School District Number One:
As you are aware, Illinois Governor Pritzker issued a mask mandate in an effort to halt the spread of the Delta Covid variant. Recently, two courts granted requests to lift mask mandates in Illinois. After the court hearings, Governor Pritzker laid out an exit plan to lift the ban on masks.
How does this impact Cairo SD #1? We recommend staff and students wear masks, but masks will no longer be mandated. On the other hand, we still insist that you stay home if you are ill and practice social distancing as appropriate.
Best, Dr. Rice
