The Cairo Board of Education held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, July 28th, at 6 p.m.

CAT President's Report:

Members present: Stubblefield, McAllister, Coleman, Nelson, Harris, Tarver, Moore.

A representative of Basinger Architects gave an update on the progress being made on the remodeling at CJSHS and CES. CJSHS should be finished by the first week in August. Overall, the project is two weeks behind.

The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:40 p.m.

The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 7:13 p.m.

Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education:

  • Voted to hire Katie Glissen as Pre-K Teacher at CES.

  • Voted to hire Shavanda Crowder as Social Worker at CES.

  • Voted to hire Kianna Sanders as Guidance Counselor at CJSHS.

  • Voted to hire Dale Workman as Math and/or Reading Interventionist.

  • Voted to approve the resignation of Laresha Reed as 773 driver.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 7:15 p.m.
