REGULAR BOE MEETING...AGENDA

The Cairo Board of Education held a Regular Meeting on Thursday, February 16th, at 6 p.m.

CAT President's Report:

Called to order at 6 p.m.

Members present: Stubblefield, Tarver, McAllister, Taylor, Harris, Nelson, and Coleman. Superintendent Ferrell was also present.

#2 - Examples of Excellence - Jr/Sr high and Cairo Elementary principals announced the Pilots of the month and Jr. Pilots of the month.

#3 - Addressed the BOE:

    Julian Howard gave a report on the mascot. Other topics were also discussed such as the support that the PTO is ready give, including help with the prom.

    Stephanie Fraction presented her incentive program called Braids for Grades.

#4 - Approved consent agenda.

#5 - Superintendent's Report:

    (1) IL State Board grant - One Goal is a post secondary grant, allows for college tours. Several visits are planned for the juniors and seniors to colleges in the area.

    (2) Several recruiting visits are planned to try to fill teaching vacancies and counselor position.

    (3) Community meeting on February 23 from 5:30-7:30.

    (4) 311 students in the district. Black History program on February 24 at 1:00 at high school.

    (5) Looking at camera upgrades.

    (6) As presented.

The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:45 p.m.

The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 10:10 p.m.

The BOE voted to approve all items under #8. (Numbers 1-9.)

The BOE voted to adjourn at 10:20 p.m.
