The Cairo Board of Education held a Regular Meeting on Thursday, September 15th, at 6 p.m.

CAT President's Report:

Called to order at 6:00 p.m.

Members present: Stubblefield, McAllister, Harris, Coleman, Nelson, and Tarver. Also present were Superintendent Rice, Assistant Superintendent Ferrell, and Secretary Beagle.

Maria Watkins spoke about the flag football program and the need for storage for equipment. She also addressed the appointment of the new board member. She feels that it needs to be a community meeting issue.

Brittany Mathews spoke about furnishing information and details about grants. She also asked about how the different consultants are hired and paid. The issue of the Chrome books was also discussed and how many more are needed along with hot spots for the families.

There was also some discussion on the enrichment program and how it will be funded.

The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 7:28 p.m.

The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 10:50 p.m.

Tabled items 1, 2, and 3.

Hired Serina Nelson as Executive Dean at CES.

Terra Harris is secretary pro tem.

Special meeting October 11 to conduct interviews for board member.

Resumes need to be in to board by October 4.

Regular meeting is October 20 when new member will be seated.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 11:00 p.m.
