BLESS THEIR LITTLE HEARTS...

So I said in a catty forward to the e-mail sent out yesterday to CAT Tracks subscribers about the roller coaster e-learning this week in CSD #1.

Well, in another topic involving matters of the heart, like maybe a heart two sizes too small.

I draw your attention to Item 9) under 8. Requiring Action/Decisions by Board of Education below:

Things that make you go hmmm...

BACKGROUND: On the night of the aforementioned December 7th BOE meeting, Madam CAT President texted me that there had been discussion in Open Session about reducing the Christmas bonus from $50 to $25. (Hence my Grinch reference.) No consensus was reached and no vote was taken on the matter. When the BOE came out of closed session, they voted to approve the Christmas bonus, but did not say how much said bonus would be. Well, Item 9) confirms that the more-money-than-God CSD #1 Grinch decided it would bless it's empolyees with $25. Bah Humbug!

Well, six weeks later...

...a $15 increase! Whooooo Hooooo!!!

Why such largess now? Well, I just don't know!

Since I never got a gift card when I was an employee of the District, I don't even know how it works. I mean, maybe District employees carry rechargable gift cards these day. I know there are such things, but in CSD #1? The gift cards that I am familiar with are a set amount - like $25. You use it and discard it, so adding another $15 six weeks later wouldn't do me any good. Or, are we going to issue new gift cards in the amount of $15? If so, I am embarrassed for them!

But, hey, CSD #1 employees, keep hope alive! February is coming...

...Valentine's Day!!! Love is in the air, Cupid out doing his thing! Surely CSD #1 will fork over the remaining $10 of the regular $50 Christmas bonus!

Bears repeating:

Bless their little hearts...

FOOTNOTE: After proofreading this article, I had a thought. Maybe after voting to give employees $25 instead of $50, maybe all hell broke loose and the CSD #1 administration blinked and decided to give the employees $40 gift cards instead. Maybe tonight's vote is just a matter of correcting the record for the auditors. Another "bears repeating"...I just don't know.

BOTTOM LINE: CSD #1 still dinged their employees for ten bucks at Christmas! What was the point? Ill will instead of good will!
