SPECIAL BOE MEETING...NOTICE & AGENDA |
The Cairo Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, February 8th, at 5:30 p.m.
The good news...
...hell, THE WONDERFUL NEWS...
...after the fiasco on February 1st when the BOE spent 5 effing hours in closed session only to come out and adjourn without taking any action...
...is that you (employees and public) don't have to go to this "meeting". It's a training session. The BOE cannot take any action at this meeting - like acting on the tabled item from the February 1st meeting - because it's NOT on the agenda. To do so would violate the law governing Open Meetings.
So...
The only reason someone would want to go to this meeting is if s/he had something that s/he wanted to say to the BOE. As required by law, there is an opportunity on the agenda - at the very beginning - for "Public/Private Hearing or Petitions (Individuals May Address the Board at this Time)". Say your piece and bid them adieu!
