The Cairo Board of Education held a Regular Meeting on Thursday, January 16th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Immediately prior to this meeting (at 5:30 p.m.) the Board conducted a Public Hearing on the District's E-Learning Plan for 2025-2028.

CAT President's Report:
Called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Members present: Coleman, Taylor, Nelson, Matthews, Tarver, Howard, Stubblefield by phone. Superintendent Ferrell and Secretary Hall were also present.
Item 2 - Nelson and Dean Gutierrez gave examples of excellence.
Item 3 - Shawnee college President Tim Taylor and Shawnee college board president April Moore spoke about improvements planned in the future.
Item 4 - Short discussion.
Item 5 - Approved.
Item 6 - Dates for graduation for High School, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for Jr. High. Dates for 6th Grade graduation, May 20 at 1:00 p.m. and Pre-K May 21 at 1:00 p.m.
Some discussion was had about installation of security devices for new building.
The BOE voted to enter closed session at 8:04 p.m.
After the BOE voted to exited closed session, They voted to do the following:
- Approve items 1 and 2.
- Table item 3.
- Approve item 4.
- Table item 5.
- Approve items 6-9.
The BOE voted to adjourn at 10:16 p.m..
