I am actually reading this book, about a third of the way through. It is indeed well written. After spending the first 75 pages or so in modern-day Cairo (yes, the authors take poetic license, even installing an apparently redneck Alexander County sheriff), the book has wandered into international intrigue, complete with space lasers. However, the scene will surely shift back to Cairo since that is the site of the old murder(s) and the modern nefariousness.
