From CAT President De De O'Shea:

We were unable to conduct the signing this afternoon (8/18/2026) of the CBA at 4:00 p.m. due to a guidance counselor section in the current version of the 2025-2028 CBA. The guidance counselor section has to be removed due to an expired MOU in 2025.

The CBA will have to be amended again which will postpone any retroactive pay on the 3% and the District will not release any checks until signing of the amended version. The BOE will discuss the amended version of the CBA at the BOE Meeting Thursday (8/20/2026) night at 6:00 p.m. All CAT Members are welcome to attend the BOE Meeting on Thursday (8/20/2026) at 6:00 p.m. Please see the attached BOE Agenda for Thursday night.

The Cairo Board of Education will hold a Regular Meeting on Thursday, August 20th, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
