CAIRO HIGH SCHOOL
CHS 1971 EGYPTI...BITS & PIECES

Well...

...that certainly didn't last long!

I mean...

...half of one day?

Namely:

I said when I posted the CHS 1975 Egypti...

Sigh...

...so many yearbooks, so many missed employees!

It's like with the retirement ceremonies each year...

The twenty-year people get their "District Bell", but others get a plaque...

...or at least recognition!

So...

While I am awaiting that CHS 2015 Egypti (or CSD 2015 District Yearbook), I am going to flip through the pages of the yearbooks from intervening years (at least up to 1995)...

...to locate, scan, and post pictures of "missing persons", giving them their due.

Appearing on the Cairo High School stage for the first time in 1970-1971 were:

  • Gene Mason (Superintendent)
  • Birdie Anderson (Home Economics...Not Pictured)
  • Thomas P. Brown
  • Bob Conroy (Actual Returnee...First Picture)
  • David L. Dagley
  • Bonnie Heidinger
  • Edward Illsley (Machine Shop and Drafting...Not Pictured)
  • James R. Karcher
  • Willie J. Maedecker (Language Arts...Not Pictured)
  • Michael Pilkington (Art...Not Pictured)
  • Bettye Sistler

And, yes, you will see familiar faces...people who also appeared in 1970 and beyond.

Folks, it's the luck of the draw...due to your/their placement in the alphabet. If you were pictured next to a "newbie", well, for better or worse...

SMILE!

You're on candid camera...

...again!

Shades of Dorian Gray...

...hope you aged well!

Point of Personal Privilege:

Since I am paying for this website...

PROOF!

Photographic evidence...

...that I was once a professional!

Suit and tie!!!

Alas...

...once I got tenure and joined the dreaded teachers' union (during the first CAT strike of 1978), my attire quickly morphed to jeans and a tuxedo t-shirt.

C'est la vie...

...solidarity forever!
