CAT Tracks for May 29, 2009 OH, WHAT A NIGHT...

Gearing down...

After bearing witness to the culmination of a year's work last night with the ratification of a new BOE-CAT Contract...climbed into my car and drove through the depressing streets of Cairo.

Oh My God...

Do my eyes and senses deceive me...or have they REALLY started the process of razing downtown Cairo??? Concrete barriers installed on the west side of Commercial Avenue between 8th and 10th Streets!!! Appears that at least one building has been razed...

Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles...

Arriving home, more keyed up than ever...

Decided to sort some papers - negotiations stuff, school board meeting stuff.

Another religious experience...

I've heard it said...often...and now I know it to be true...

The Lord works in mysterious ways...

...because if I had found this paper before Tuesday's CAT ratification meeting, I would have lost my religion...and most likely could not have forced myself to "shill" for the BOE's underwhelming and retaliatory proposal.

I'm speechless...

For sure, I shall overcome this impediment...

I shall certainly have a few choice words on this subject.

For now, I present Exhibit A in what is wrong with Cairo School District Number One...
