CAT Tracks for June 30, 2009
MOVING DAY |
Well, CAT-CATTracks has been advertising for a solid month that it would have a new address beginning July 1, 2009...a move that was "pre-advertised" months ago when Yahoo announced that they were pulling the plug on Geocities...the host of CAT-CATTracks for the past dozen years.
To "make it so", your link to CAT-CATTracks will go missing later today to resurface...who knows where.
The reason for the "mystery" is that one does not know what addresses are available when one logs on to the "change site". For instance, when I made a dry run months ago, CAT was looooong gone...as was CATTracks. I tried cairoassociationofteachers.com and it worked. Will it be available later today...??? Time will tell...it's the first "new address" I will try. (I don't like the length of the address, but it's only 3 more characters than geocities.com/cattracks.geo...and definitely easier to remember.)
So, when your current link quits working...try cairoassociationofteachers.com and see what happens.
If that does NOT work, then do a "Google Search" for Cairo Association of Teachers, ignoring all "hits" that show geocities.com/cattracks.geo.
Actually, SUBSCRIBERS will get an e-mail providing the new link. With one click, you will be taken to our new location. Once there, you can add it to your "bookmarks" or "favorites"...while deleting the expired link.
By the way...
Today SHOULD be "moving day" for someone else...namely, Cairo Superintendent of Schools Leotis D. Swopes. His contract specified that he had to move to Cairo for the 2009-2010 School Year, which I would interpret as beginning on July 1, 2010.
Do NOT hold your breath...for TWO reasons:
Can I get an "Amen"?
If not, for sure a "MEOW"!
Yep, couldn't resist a "parting shot"...
The final edition of the "geocities version" of CATTracks HAD to be true to its roots...HAD to be in the vein of the always vigilant "WatchCAT", keeping one eye open at all time (night or day), waiting for the next outrageous action to be perpetrated by the Cairo School District "powers that be" upon their innocent "go-about-their-business" employees...letting out an appropriate "warning howl"!
Hmmm...
Former Cairo FOP Member and Interim Superintendent Sam Harbin used to chastise me about my "cat sounds"; namely when I would type my "Grrr..." during particularly offended/angered moments.
"CATs don't growl, Ron" was his frequent admonition.
Actually, I never did accept that assertion. Being a long-time cat lover, I've heard cats emit sounds that sounded purrty much like a growl to my ears...even back in the day when those ears were young and perceptive!
BUT, I've always been open to publishing different viewpoints...
So...if any animal kingdom experts out there take offense to my "howl" above - noting that it should be "yowl" or "yeowl"...so be it!
Let's simply agree to disagree...
For sure, however you wish to label it, when CATs get upset, they have a way of raising a ruckus that gets the attention of one and all!
See ya at our new address on July 1st!
