CAT Tracks for January 5, 2010 DROPPED THE BALL

...that would be me.

On Monday, I paid a brief visit to CJSHS and was immediately "confronted"...on why there was no posting over the holiday break regarding the serious health setback suffered by Teacher/Coach Tommy Ellis. For teachers and staff at CJSHS (and other buildings) to report back to work and be met by the shocking news that a colleague has been in the hospital with a serious health condition for over two weeks was understandably upsetting.

For that, I apologize.

By way of explanation...

I was hesitant at the beginning...to post an "unconfirmed rumor", having no first-hand knowledge of the incident or its aftermath. My source of information was totally reliable...I had no doubt of the seriousness of the situation. However, when it comes to matters of personal health or death, I tend to error on the side of caution...hesitant that a close friend or family member should learn of such news by way of the Internet.

Another day passed, then another...with no further news.

As late as Sunday afternoon when I drove by CJSHS and saw a scrolling message on the marquee "wishing Coach Tommy Ellis a speedy recovery", I considered posting the belated news, only to think, well, surely everybody knows by now...

My brief visit to CJSHS yesterday proved the error of that thinking.

I know that everyone joins with me in wishing the best for Tommy in the coming days. He will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers...
