Flu-like illness causes Charleston to cancel school
By Heartland News
CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - A flu-like illness sweeping through the Charleston School district caused the district to cancel classes and postpone homecoming activities.
Superintendent Dr. Andrew Rogers said more than 200 students were out of school on Monday, 237 students were out on Tuesday, and nearly 260 students were out on Wednesday, many of them with flu-like symptoms.
All school activities have been cancelled through October 4th. Homecoming activities have been postponed until October 23rd.
School is scheduled to resume on Monday, October 5th.
The district is doing everything they can to keep the halls and classrooms germ free. They're cleaning desks and spraying Lysol.
