  1. Need For a Computer Tech. Aide - During the most recent District SIP Day (March 17th), a new K-12 Testing Program was announced and described. The name of the computerized program is "Measures of Academic Progress" - MAP. Superintendent Swopes stated that this testing instrument was a monitoring device to direct instruction. It was his hope that since this was a new program to the District that it could be funded through Title I. The new "Computer Tech. Aide" would assist in the administration of the program. BOE Member Stubblefield asked if this program could employ one of the nine teacher assistants just released by the BOE at its last meeting. Superintendent Swopes gave a very hesitant and qualified "possibly"...that before anything could happen, a job description would have to be developed and whoever was employed to fill the position would have to meet the specified qualifications for the position.
