LIFE IN A SMALL TOWN...

...ain't like it is in a big city, like Chicago.

In a small town, if the Superintendent of Schools gets arrested...word spreads, like wildfire.

Yep, that's the rumor that roared through Cairo today...that Leotis Swopes was arrested for stalking (an employee) and for trespassing on his property.

Although I heard bits and pieces of juicy details from various sources, I shall refrain from repeating them. However, the Cairo Superintendent's "personal appearance" at the police station was witnessed and confirmed by several sources.

I also have it on good authority that the Cairo Superintendent was spared the ignominious fate of actually being placed behind bars, as the "victim" was kind enough to withdraw the complaint.

This being a Friday...

One would also hope - for the Superintendent's sake - that the incident occurred early enough in the day that it did NOT interfere with his normal early departure for Sweet Home Chicago...
