Went to bed early last night...

...and it's just as well.

If I had stayed awake another 25 minutes, I would not have slept at all.

Reason being...

When I awakened at my usual 2:50 a.m., there was a 9:25 p.m. e-mail awaiting me. The e-mail was from the attorney retained by the Illinois Education Association to represent James Gibson and CAT against Cairo School District Number One (represented by its band of thieves - aka Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton & Taylor, Ltd. - aka "Robbers All".)

Attached to the e-mail was a 27-page "brief", listing/defending the "exceptions" that the District was taking to the Administrative Law Judge's ruling earlier the month...the ruling that TOTALLY TOOK EXCEPTION to the District's improper and illegal treatment of James Gibson.

So much for hoping that the District would have a moment of "TEMPORARY SANITY"...and pull the plug on its misadventures, misadventures that have already cost the District hundreds of thousands of dollars over an almost 5-year period of time! (Over $100,000 during the first semester of this school year alone! And THAT was before their lawyers filed their 19-page "brief".)

Nope...no "sanity" will ever darken the administrative doorstep of Cairo School District Number One!!!

And, there, Dear Friends, is where I shall stop...and bite my catty tongue.

Since this is a matter that obviously remains "in litigation", I shall not go into details...details that this crazy-assed, out-of-control school district would most likely try to use in a subsequent many-many-paged brief against James Gibson and/or CAT.

I refuse to feed the lawyers "lines" that they can use to charge the District "to take exception".

It is time...way past time...for the Illinois State Board of Education to get rid of the Cairo Board of Education and the Cairo Financial Oversight Panel.
