...uh, fade to black.

Grapevine has it that the August 13th Teacher Institute will NOT be held at Shawnee Community College after all...but will return to CJSHS.

Haven't heard anything official, but you know the reliability of Cairo's grapevine...

The big losers will be CATs...having to rest their fuzzy butts on hard plastic cafeteria chairs instead of the plush theater seating of the SCC auditorium.

But, hey, "We B CATs"...forged in the fires of adversity.

According to Superintendent Swopes' remarks at the District's end-of-the-year luncheon, we were ALL supposed to tighten our belts.

Only a prima donna would object to such trivial "discomfort"!

However, if someone feels "put out", the good news is that we still have almost two weeks until the meeting. That's ample time to set up a stage, borrow a nicer podium, and get a microphone that actually works. Maybe SCC would rent out their red curtain as a suitable backdrop. It would surely be cheaper than the chartered bus(es) and the outside catering.

I'm just sayin', DAWG!
