Carmi and Cairo Get Hospital Grants

Cairo and Carmi, Illinois have received roughly 16-million dollars to build hospitals in their towns.

Most of the money is coming from the state's capital construction plan.

Right now, the nearest hospital to Cairo is in either Anna, Illinois or Sikeston, Missouri.

Carmi's nearest hospital is 20 miles West in McLeansboro, Illinois.
