LOG TRUCK OVERTURNS |
As you are cruising down the highway...those narrow two-lane highways, do you ever give thought to the person piloting the on-coming vehicle?
Don't...would scare the bejeebers out of you!
Throw in thoughts of alcohol, weed, meth, crack, or texting...you won't ever leave the house again. And, while in the house, you will avoid the street-side of the house...where the news reports incoming vehicles on not-so-rare occasions.
I try to follow that advice...
But, whenever I see a log truck approaching...can't help but grip the steering wheel a little harder...feel certain muscles tighten up a bit...poise my foot half-way between accelerator and brake, knowing I'll have only a split second (if that) to decide which to press to the metal.
Another word of advice...
Don't forget to resume breathing!

Kentucky crash ties up Ohio River Bridge
BY THE SOUTHERN
ALEXANDER COUNTY -- A log truck that overturned just off the Kentucky end of the U.S. 51 Ohio River Bridge linking Cairo with Wickliffe, Ky., tied up traffic for several hours Tuesday.
The traffic alert was issued at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday by Keith Todd of the Kentucky Department of Highways. By 4:05 p.m. traffic was moving again, but just one lane of the roadway was open.
Traffic was expected to remain snarled in the area for another hour or more, Todd said.
