Cairo's derelict buildings are burning so fast and furiously that it's hard to keep up!

Had some "technical difficulties" on Saturday evening...Internet connection went down. By the time service was restored, Cairo's arsonists had moved on to 22nd & MLK Jr. Avenue.

They was hot footin' it...

Fire destroys another Cairo building

by Zakk Gammon

CAIRO, IL (KFVS) - The Illinois State Fire Marshall has launched an investigation into another fire, this one happening around midnight Saturday.

The fire destroyed the old Econo Clean facility on 17th Street. The Mounds and Mound City Fire Departments assisted in putting the blaze out.

The building was empty; no one was hurt.

This comes just days after an empty building in Downtown Cairo burned down. Thursday's fire has been ruled arson. Officials haven't said if the two fires are related.
