YET ANOTHER FIRE II |
Okay...
Correction to the previous story in which I described Saturday's fire damage as "minor". An actual "drive by" revealed that it was a two-story brick structure that was gutted...like the Roslyn Hotel before it...or the Speakeasy.
Now...
The latest fire (subject of the article below) would be "minor". If the fire truck weren't still there, you wouldn't even notice it...just another derelict Cairo building.
BTW...
Apologies for the lateness of this post. A fellow CAT gave me a "heads up" e-mail, but I was already on the way out the door...an important mission.
You see...one of my hearing aids died and TONIGHT (as noted in the first edition of CAT Tracks today) is the Rescheduled Regular Monthly WHISPERING Meeting of the Cairo Board of Education. I mean...you can barely hear with TWO ears, so if I had not arranged instant emergency repairs, I might as well have stayed home.
THAT would have left Madam President the loneliest CAT in town, I might have actually found a life, and it would have given the Board Members entirely too much joy as they embark on their convention travels this week!
However...
Mission accomplished...CAT ears perked and ready...for whatever the mysterious (no agenda) meeting has to offer.
As George W. Bush would say...
BRING IT ON!!!
WOW...when I'm wrong, I'm WRONG!!!

Auto dealer fire in Cairo now considered suspicious
By Heartland News
CAIRO, IL (KFVS) - Firefighters were once again called out to another blaze in Cairo.
According to a Cairo firefighter, they were called to the scene of a fire at the old R.C. Auto Sales on US 51 on the south end of town around 6 Monday morning.
A firefighter tells says the dealership was abandoned and no one was inside when they arrived.
There is no word on what caused this fire, but the Cairo fire chief does say the cause of the fire is suspicious.
The state fire marshal has also been called in to investigate. The fire marshal will begin his investigation across town though at an empty home that burned over the weekend.
There have been no injuries reported.
