CAT Tracks for February 3, 2011 SPECIAL BOE MEETING...MINUTES

The Cairo Board of Education held a Special Meeting on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 5 p.m. "for the purpose of Superintendent's Contract." The notice and agenda are below the "minutes"...

I. Call to Order - 5:02 p.m.

II. Roll Call - Harris, Brown, Gooden, and Stubblefield (who presided in the absence of Burris.)

(Mcbride arrived at 5:06 p.m. Coleman arrived at 5:18 p.m. Stubblefield left at 5:47 p.m.)

III. Recognition and Comments from Employees and Public - None.

IV. Approval of Agenda - Motion made, seconded, and passed.

V. Closed Session - The BOE voted to enter closed session at 5:04 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 5:52 p.m. (with Coleman presiding due to the departure of Stubblefield.)

VI. Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education - A motion was made, seconded, and passed to hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 5 p.m. for the purposed of the Superintendent's contract.

(During the discussion before the motion and vote, there was a question as to the starting time of the negotiations session with the CAESP...whether it was 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. That if the negotiations session was at 5:30 p.m., then the Special BOE Meeting could be held at 5 p.m. since they only needed 30 minutes for the Superintendent's contract. Hmmm...Pure D Speculation, but if they know they only need 30 minutes, 'twould appear that it's a done deal...a voting/signing ceremony of a prepared document.)
