CAT Tracks for March 5, 2011 AMERICA'S UNION STORY

Since the Governor of Wisconsin is attempting to make unions in his state "history", I felt that maybe a union history lesson was in order...

I have not reproduced the story below because it is chock full of links to related stories...a full-meal-deal (including videos. However, there is plenty to keep dial-up folks occupied too!)

Speaking of history lessons...

...or politically correct/incorrect usages:

• Got a response to my "Cairo has no citizens...only residents" article.

  BUSTED!

Upon further review, I was obviously WRONG! In fact, most weeks I pay homage to such...following the busy schedule of the Cairo High School Beta Club.

Yes indeedy...Cairo does indeed have a "citizen"...

  The Cairo Citizen!

(CAT Tracks Editor's Note: Never wanting to admit complete defeat, can I at least take solace in the fact that "The Cairo Citizen" changed its "residence" last year...moving from Washington Avenue to 16th Street?! Probably not... Oh, well.)

• Stepping into another potential mess...the title of our history lesson - "America's Union Story".

  WRONG!

The story linked below is NOT about America...it's about the United States (of America). You won't read anything about Canadian unions or Mexican unions or Brazilian unions...you know, those other countries in AMERICA...north, central, or south!

Just like those patriotic "Americans" who get so upset when protesters burn the "American Flag". Would your blood boil if the flags being burned were Canadian, Mexican, or Brazilian...those other "American flags"?!
