'STEVE TILLEY, CAIRO AND ME' |
Below is a link to an article that appeared in the Columbia Daily Tribune, Columbia, MO, that was reprinted in this week's edition of The Cairo Citizen.
The 'Me' is Rudi Keller...the reporter who asked Missouri Speaker of the House Steve Tilley the now infamous question of whether he preferred flooding Missouri farm land or Cairo, Ill. The answer that went viral was "Cairo".
Folks, this reporter's follow-up to the controversy is a MUST READ!
The writing is excellent, the history spot on.
Hell, he even knows that the City of Cairo is NOT pronounced "KAY-ro"...
From the Columbia Daily Tribune...
"Steve Tilley, Cairo and Me" by Rudi Keller
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
The May 12th edition of The Cairo Citizen is a "Collector's Edition"...with the aforementioned article above AND the in-depth history of the "Birds Point-New Madrid Floodway".
I give the entire paper "two paws up"...
