SPEAKING OF UNEMPLOYMENT |
Thanks, Mr. Mayor, but that's NOT our Number One concern or priority.
We wanna come home!!!
BTW: Since we have been evicted from Cairo and forced to seek refuge elsewhere, we are no longer able to tune into WKRO 1490! What's a refugee suppose to do...

Posted: May 05, 2011 2:13 PM CDT
CAIRO, IL (KFVS) - Cairo workers displaced by recent flooding in Illinois might be eligible for unemployment benefits, according to Cairo Mayor Tyrone Coleman.
He says if a business is unable to operate and must temporarily close the Illinois Department of Employment Security might be able to meet its employees as a group to accept unemployment insurance applications.
If you apply you should have available the names, ages and social security numbers of dependants.
To apply for benefits you can go online or phone the IDES call center at 800-244-5631.
More information can be obtained by calling the IDES regional offices in Murphysboro 618-687-2341, Mount Vernon 618-242-6121 or Marion 618-997-6835.
According to Coleman, individuals deemed eligible to receive unemployment benefits can receive payment either through direct deposit or debit card.
