CAT Tracks for May 8, 2011
ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE |
In my earlier post of today, I cried out in pain...
...but NOT in vain!
CAT's doctor on call responded...a prescription to cure my "Saturday in the Park" addiction. I dutifully followed the doctor's advice and by God, it worked!
Just got through visiting my mother for a couple of hours, chatted with my neighbor for a bit, and then headed for the house. As I approached my front door, I realized I was singing to myself...
...just what the doctor ordered:
Early in the evenin' just about supper time,
Over by the courthouse they're starting to unwind.
Four kids on the corner trying to bring you up.
Willy picks a tune out and he blows it on the harp.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.
Rooster hits the washboard and people just got to smile,
Blinky, thumps the gut bass and solos for a while.
Poorboy twangs the rhythm out on his kalamazoo.
Willy goes into a dance and doubles on kazoo.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.
You don't need a penny just to hang around,
But if you've got a nickel, won't you lay your money down?
Over on the corner there's a happy noise.
People come from all around to watch the magic boy.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
I can already tell that this may well be one of those "Be Careful What You Ask For" situations...already on replay number six of the video!
So...
Keep those song suggestions coming because I may soon need a cure for the cure!!!
Postscript:
Just received another e-mailed song suggestion...
...complete with catty commentary!
The song:
"I Can See Clearly Now The Rain Is Gone"
The catty commentary:
"Too bad the mayor wont let you."
Ouch...
