CAT Tracks for October 16, 2011 SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN

On a slow news weekend...

Received an e-mail this morning from a friend with the title borrowed for this posting.

If you google the lyrics, it is a truly depressing song.

Anyway...

...when I ventured forth on my first excursion through Cairo a short while ago, I found that the song title proved to be prophetic.

Sunday is apparently no day of rest for the downtown Cairo demonlition crew.

Oh, they are not working at their usual "hell on wheels" pace, but there is activity.

One of the new "Cairo Mounds" - a pile of bricks left mysteriously at the Bass Building/Turf Club site - is indeed "coming down":

Unlike the lyrics to Sunday Morning Coming Down, I find this development, well, uplifting.
