Another "uplifting" moment came yesterday while navigating the Sycamore-Washington curve in the middle of Cairo. Lo and behold...the beginning of the end for "Mound 6" (aka the ruins of the Hong Kong Restaurant (formerly Harper's.)

As I reported the razing of downtown Cairo, I was silently wishin' and hopin'...PLEASE remove the most prominent eyesore to passers-by!!!

Yesterday, my prayers were answered as one of the downtown cranes moved to the middle of town and got busy.

This morning...

...the nastiest day in months.

Would the crane wimp out and take shelter from the storm?
