Cairo High School received a $2,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety to implement a student-led project to help eliminate teen fatalities.
The Cairo High School Beta Club's Teen Safe Pilot Driving Program held its first event on Dec. 9 in the Cairo High School Cafeteria on "Distracted Driving."
Local law enforcement personnel and Beta Club members conducted a forum asking law enforcement questions on distracted driving and the importance of avoiding distractions while driving.
