CAT Tracks for December 30, 2011
NEW ILLINOIS LAWS FOR 2012

One for school bus drivers (and their supervisors)...

...and one for those of you who hang out in the back seat of cars.

From the December 29th edition of The Cairo Citizen...

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

And...

If that wasn't enough to occupy your mind or get your blood a-pumpin' on New Year's Eve eve, WSIL actually listed a synopsis of the approximately 200 laws that will rise and shine on January 1, 2012...

...the final year of our lives, at least as we know it! (If you were not aware of that dire prognostication, scroll down and I will explain! If you were aware, don't bother reading the extra laws or my explanation...you have more important things to occupy your remaining days.)

From the WSIL TV Channel 3 Website...

Illinois to Add 200 New Laws

CAT Tracks Editor's Note: (Continued...)

Ventured out of the CAT cave yesterday, out of Cairo even. That'll teach me!

Had a pleasant lunch with a survivalist and a scientist and another retired CAT.

I had heard the rumors, but further light was shed...

...that the planets will align on December 21, 2012 and, well...uh, oh.

I googled, and here's the best I have to offer:

DECEMBER 2012: THE END OF THE WORLD

Well THAT headline certainly got my attention...heightened my emotions!

But, after reading the very first paragraph, my attention waned.

The focus on "13":

Thirteen, shmirteen!

In Cairo School District Number One, we KNOW..."13" - even Friday the 13th - is nothing to fear. January 13th is to be anticipated with joy...reason to have a second new year's celebration!!!

After 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011...

...well, 2012 is shaping up as a very good year!

So...

This old CAT will not make any doomsday preparations. Mayan's and Planet X? I shall content myself with Mulder and Files X.

The article below by a NASA scientist debunks the whole thing:

"2012 and Counting" by Dr. David Morrison

However, with my own youthful fascination with Roswell and Project Blue Book and now catching up on nine seasons of "The X Files" and government conspiracies...

...well, don't say I didn't warn you!
